Job Summary

Provide senior accounting leadership and governance for Rebates and Incentives (contra-revenue) across a Europe division. Lead and develop the R&I Controller team, oversee end-to-end accounting quality performed by the GBSC, and deliver complex revenue and contra-revenue technical guidance aligned to US GAAP and Mastercard policies. Partner with FP&A, Business Development Finance, Legal, Account Management, and Regional Finance to strengthen controls, support contract drafting, and improve operational efficiency and reporting accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the R&I Controller team for the division, providing oversight, technical accounting expertise, and guidance to stakeholders.
•Oversee the quality of the Rebates & Incentives accounting process across in-scope countries; GBSC performs operational processing.
•Provide complex accounting advice by discussing, challenging, and validating accounting treatments, and communicating conclusions for consistent application.
•Review customer business agreements to support appropriate contract wording and controllership governance at design/negotiation stages of significant agreements.
•Perform and review oversight controls for month-end and quarterly deliverables, including audit/SOX compliance and monthly rebate and incentive reconciliations.

Key Requirements

•University degree or equivalent professional experience.
•Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CPA).
•Strong technical accounting experience evaluating revenue contracts; US GAAP experience preferred and IFRS knowledge advantageous.
•Controllership experience in a multinational environment.
•Strong knowledge of internal controls and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), plus proficiency with accounting/finance systems and excellent communication/organizational skills.
