Job Summary

Coordinate and manage right-of-way activities for transportation projects from design through construction. Identify ROW needs early, coordinate property acquisitions and easements, support relocations, and prepare ROW certifications in line with UDOT requirements, working with DOT staff, designers, utility coordinators and environmental teams to keep projects on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

•Coordinate ROW planning: identify ROW needs during planning and preliminary design, including permanent ROW, temporary construction easements, access, drainage, and utility easements for DOT projects.
•Manage ROW acquisition and easement support: parcel tracking, title review coordination, appraisal support, and acquisition schedule development.
•Liaise with design teams, DOT staff, acquisition consultants, and property owners to maintain progress and clear communication.
•Support relocation activities when required, including strategic phasing to align with project schedules.
•Maintain ROW tracking logs and assist with preparation of ROW certification documentation prior to project letting.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, planning, real estate, geography, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
•7-10 years of relevant post education experience in a related management role within our industry, including 3–7+ years supporting ROW activities on transportation projects (preferably for State DOT or local public agency clients).
•Working knowledge of ROW acquisition, easements, access control, and relocation processes for publicly funded projects.
•Experience coordinating with DOT staff, property owners, consultants, and multidisciplinary design teams.
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to track multiple parcels and milestones concurrently.
