Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as subject matter expert on FCC and state PUC frameworks for Dialpad’s UCaaS and CCaaS offerings, including filing obligations, interconnection requirements, and active CPUC proceedings.
  • •Provide legal guidance on STIR/SHAKEN compliance, CLI masking authorizations, Caller ID obligations, and Truth in Caller ID Act requirements, including exposure identification and remediation strategy development.
  • •Monitor FCC rulemakings, state legislative activity, and international telecommunications developments; translate findings into actionable guidance for Engineering, Product, and Operations ahead of deadlines.
  • •Advise on call recording consent law and related requirements (including CIPA/ECPA and two-party consent), TCPA/FTSA exposure, and A2P/P2P SMS compliance using CTIA guidelines and applicable FCC messaging rules.
  • •Partner across Product, Engineering, Sales, Operations, Privacy, Security, and Commercial Legal to review features and launches for compliance, develop consent/disclosure matrices, and provide training and materials that reduce routine legal intake.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 169,000 - 214,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Four to eight years of legal experience with substantive telecommunications regulatory exposure, gained at a law firm, carrier, UCaaS company, or regulatory agency; in-house experience at a SaaS/communications technology company is preferred.
  • •Demonstrated familiarity with FCC rules and the Communications Act, including application to VoIP and cloud communications providers and non-dominant interexchange carrier concepts.
  • •Practical experience advising on call recording consent law (not just researching it).
  • •Working knowledge of TCPA and FTSA to identify platform-level exposure from customer use cases and develop risk mitigation strategies.
  • •Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and emerging state AI legislation, plus ability to translate complex legal analysis into clear, actionable guidance; fluency in written and spoken English.
