Job Summary

Work on complex urban drainage projects using blue-green infrastructure and sustainable drainage practices. Join the Blue Green Infrastructure team to provide technical input on SuDS, support engineers with design and feasibility through to detailed design and construction, and help produce reports, drawings, specifications, and schedules. Share knowledge with the wider team, support high-profile public realm and local authority projects, and promote WSP’s SuDS work through industry forums and conferences.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical input on urban drainage projects predominantly SuDS and blue-green infrastructure.
•Support development of engineering solutions from feasibility studies through detailed design and construction.
•Produce high-quality technical outputs, including reports and supporting drawings, specifications, and schedules.
•Assist and support engineers within the team while working on bespoke, challenging projects.
•Contribute to the team through knowledge sharing and promote WSP’s SuDS brand through industry forums and conferences.

Key Requirements

•A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. civil or environmental engineering, construction, environmental science, geography).
•Some knowledge in urban drainage design and the ability to check others’ technical outputs prior to issue.
•Some experience or understanding of hydraulic modelling using industry-standard software (e.g. InfoWorks, FLOW).
•Competence with AutoCAD.
•Familiarity with industry-standard geographical information systems (e.g. ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo).
