Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide commercial legal advice to key stakeholders across Canada, the United States, and overseas.
  • •Draft and negotiate third-party commercial contracts, including sponsorship/partnership arrangements, IP agreements and licensing/brand-related terms, and review leases/real estate contracts.
  • •Advise on corporate structuring, corporate governance, and entity management for North American entities, including resolutions and filings.
  • •Support financial services regulatory matters in Canada and the United States, including licensing/registration and safeguarding/conduct matters.
  • •Manage external counsel as needed, support the disputes team when required, and prepare templates/playbooks/procedures and training materials.

Key Requirements

  • •Law degree in Canada or the United States.
  • •At least 5 years of qualified experience in private practice or in-house.
  • •Strong interest in the fintech sector and financial products.
