Job Summary

Lead technical direction for an AI Agent Platform powering emergency response products. Own the architecture of mission-critical systems spanning real-time voice AI, low-latency audio/streaming, telephony, LLM orchestration, and human-in-the-loop workflows. Drive engineering excellence across reliability, availability, security, and performance; build evaluation/testing/observability; mentor engineers; and lead incident response while partnering with product and operations to turn ambiguous needs into technical strategy.

•Lead the design and operation of real-time voice AI systems that support human 911 telecommunicators at scale.
•Identify and solve the hardest problems in the stack, including low-latency audio, streaming, telephony, LLM orchestration, and human-in-the-loop AI workflows.
•Drive engineering excellence across reliability, availability, security, and performance by defining team standards.
•Mentor engineers through reviews, design feedback, and pairing; raise the technical bar across the team.
•Build evaluation/testing/observability frameworks, lead incident response and post-incident reviews, and maintain runbook quality and on-call health.

•8+ years architecting LLM, agentic, or RAG systems in production, including evals and prompt test harnesses at scale, with deep expertise in real-time communication systems (Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, Voice Activity Detection).
•Production software engineering experience with a clear track record of technical leadership.
•Designed, shipped, and operated large, complex systems in high-stakes domains.
•Comfort working across backend, infrastructure, AI pipelines, and product surfaces.
•Ability to turn ambiguous product or operational problems into clear technical plans for the team.
