Key Responsibilities

  • •Collaborate within the Maritime group to design, develop, and deliver productized support systems for the Copperhead family of UUVs.
  • •Develop mechanical solutions for launch and recovery mechanisms, handling gear, transportation/storage solutions, and testing equipment.
  • •Select, qualify, and manage vendors for commercial off-the-shelf components and outsourced manufacturing/design of support systems.
  • •Own and drive mechanical systems and platform development from initial concept through low rate production.
  • •Lead technical efforts to define requirements, propose solutions, evaluate and verify support systems; run design reviews, analysis, vendor visits, and hardware test plans.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
  • •7+ years of experience with mechanical design and testing in maritime, aerospace, or defense systems, with maritime preferred.
  • •Proven CAD skills and the ability to produce high-quality engineering drawings compliant with industry standards.
  • •Demonstrated hands-on fabrication skills.
  • •Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
