Key Responsibilities

•Provide technical leadership, owning design solutions and guiding others.
•Lead the technical assurance of hydraulic systems, sub-systems and equipment for the next generation Royal Navy submarines.
•Verify calculations are complete and meet technical intent, reviewed by SQEP.
•Support the team in tackling technical challenges and ensuring robust technical solutions.
•Coordinate programmatic initiatives and lead additional work packages outside the normal system scope.

Salary: GBP 55,000 annually

Key Requirements

•Extensive experience in the design of hydraulic systems in safety-critical environments (e.g. maritime, defence, nuclear, oil & gas, sub-sea).
•Proven ability to deliver system lifecycle work from concept through commissioning, with leadership in technical direction and mentoring.
•Strong experience with hydraulic power units (HPUs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), control cabinets, pumps, electric motors, hydraulic actuators, hydro-static transmissions and fluid mechanics.
•Chartered engineer or working towards professional accreditation.
•Ability to lead technical assurance for hydraulic systems and coordinate cross-disciplinary design activities.
