Key Responsibilities

  • •Review and analyze highly complex individual risks, programs, and referrals, and determine acceptability, pricing, coverage, terms, and conditions.
  • •Develop and implement underwriting guidelines, rates, forms, product endorsements, and related procedures; assist with department policies and methodologies.
  • •Engage with reinsurers and compile data for presentations, ensuring proper use of treaty, semiautomatic, and facultative reinsurance facilities.
  • •Collaborate with internal business partners (e.g., claims, actuary, compliance) to resolve escalated issues and support program initiatives.
  • •Lead implementation of new programs end-to-end (guidelines, filings, compliance/regulatory, finance, reinsurance, claims, legal, accounting, actuarial, and marketing) and train/mentor underwriting team members.

Key Requirements

  • •Typically 5+ years of experience as a Professional, Financial and/or Specialty lines underwriter.
  • •Underwriting knowledge of Professional, Financial, and/or Specialty lines, including policies, practices, procedures, and insurance law.
  • •Strong understanding of financial documents and financial analysis, including investments and market conditions.
  • •Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal and external business partners.
