Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure physical/electronic tax documents for dividend/interest are in place before market deadlines for HSBC custody clients, and liaise with foreign authorities during audit inspections.
  • •Advise clients on tax claim filing for favorable tax rates after receiving dividend payments, and proactively manage stakeholder relationships across tax-related issues.
  • •Plan and control daily activities within the Tax services department to meet quality standards and critical deadlines with minimal regulatory impact.
  • •Maintain HSBC internal control standards by implementing internal/external audit points and addressing issues raised by external auditors.
  • •Partner with IT to resolve business-as-usual processing system operational issues and participate in user acceptance testing when required, while enhancing workflows and operational efficiency.

Key Requirements

  • •Build and maintain relationships with business units and continuously manage service level agreements through stringent follow-up.
  • •Use strong analytical, statistical, and data mining skills to study trends, make projections, and interpret numeric information for operational decision-making.
  • •Demonstrate process management skills, initiate process improvements, and ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
  • •Have good technical skills evidenced by achievement of objectives with strong organization, planning, and resource handling.
  • •Possess good knowledge of Excel (formulas and macros) and relevant corporate actions/trade settlement systems (including GCS, BaNCS) and Xceptor knowledge.
