Job Summary

Process consumer equity and non-equity loan applications by performing pre-underwriting and validating underwriting stipulations. Serve as the primary contact for borrowers through phone and email, collecting documents, translating internal requirements for customers, and advancing files through the underwriting pipeline. Coordinate with underwriting and financial centers, manage a loan application pipeline, resolve document-related issues, and maintain accurate, complete data in loan processing systems while mentoring junior Loan Specialists.

•Proactively contact customers to collect documents needed to underwrite applications.
•Provide accurate explanations of products and policies and guide customers through required documentation for lending decisions.
•Evaluate loan documentation and review income and vendor documents, clearing conditions per delegated authority.
•Manage the pipeline by updating files and systems as applications move through underwriting, ensuring accurate and timely data.
•Serve as an escalation/trusted advisor for customer and internal questions and mentor/train less experienced Loan Specialists.

Key Requirements

•3+ years of consumer lending experience in processing or customer service.
•In-depth knowledge of loans, lending guidelines, and underwriting/closing procedures.
•Ability to evaluate loan documentation and analyze income and other required documents to clear conditions within delegated authority.
•Experience managing a pipeline of consumer loan applications.
•Proven computer skills and ability to analyze policies to maximize productivity while managing risk.
