Key Responsibilities

  • •Run policy development processes from open question to agreed position, including framing questions, coordinating experts across teams, and resolving disagreements.
  • •Develop research plans for priority issues, identifying the evidence needed and where Anthropic’s own data and outside partners are the right sources.
  • •Partner with internal research groups to convert findings into materials policymakers can use.
  • •Manage commissioned research end-to-end and build partnerships with academics, think tanks, economists, and consultancies.
  • •Own economic impact reports and narratives and draft briefings and talking points on short timelines, scaling processes for international markets.

  • •A track record of driving cross-functional projects to a decision or finished product, aligning stakeholders with competing interests.
  • •Experience as a policy generalist across several issue areas, including designing and executing policy research and translating it into proposals or positions.
  • •Ability to scope research questions, work with economists/academics/experts, and evaluate the quality of evidence and methods.
  • •Excellent writing skills to turn complex technical or economic material into clear memos, briefings, and talking points for different audiences.
  • •Strong organization and project management to run several research projects and outside partners at once while taking independent ownership of deliverables.
