Job Summary

Lead co-development of a hybrid-electric tiltrotor autonomous aircraft, serving as the technical owner at the interface between Anduril’s mission system and an external partner’s air vehicle. Own and evolve the air vehicle system design baseline, manage ICDs and interface requirements, drive air vehicle configuration tradeoffs, and coordinate TPM, certification strategy, and development-to-production configuration evolution. Collaborate across teams to support simulation, mission trades, and flight test planning.

Key Responsibilities

•Own and maintain the Air Vehicle System Design Document (SDD) to enforce the design baseline driven by mission needs.
•Represent Anduril in partner vehicle engineering design reviews and advocate for military mission requirements (payload, power, survivability, flight performance).
•Support the CE in defining ICDs and manage the full co-development technical interface, including space claims, power/thermal budgets, structural provisions, and flight envelope allocations.
•Drive air vehicle configuration decisions and coordinate vehicle-level architecture tradeoffs affecting acoustic signature, cruise speed, payload capacity, and certification timeline.
•Own air vehicle certification strategy and manage development-to-production configuration evolution while coordinating cross-team execution and resolving integration issues.

Key Requirements

•8+ years in rotorcraft, tiltrotor, or VTOL vehicle engineering at the subsystem or vehicle level.
•Deep understanding of VTOL flight mechanics (hover, transition, cruise) and how they constrain vehicle design.
•Experience owning or negotiating technical interfaces (ICDs, power budgets, TPMs) across an organizational boundary with an external partner.
•Familiarity with hybrid-electric or electric propulsion architectures.
•Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance.
