Job Summary

Play a frontline role in a busy university-run food supermarket by supporting daily store operations. You’ll greet and serve customers, answer queries, operate tills and self-service/payment systems, and help resolve routine concerns. Maintain stock replenishment and merchandising across food areas, keep the shop floor and stockroom clean, and follow food safety and health & safety procedures including HACCP and temperature checks.

Key Responsibilities

•Greet and serve customers in a professional, friendly manner, answer queries, and build rapport while encouraging feedback.
•Operate tills, self-service machines, and payment systems accurately while maintaining efficient checkout experiences.
•Replenish stock and support merchandising, including rotating stock and checking date codes to reduce waste.
•Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety procedures (including HACCP routines, temperature checks, and cleaning/sanitisation).
•Support smooth daily store operations by working collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues and participating in training and development activities.

Salary: GBP 24,097 - 25,203 annually

•Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team with a flexible approach to working hours and days.
