Senior Construction Inspector responsible for interpreting construction plans, assisting in inspection with the construction management team, ensuring work complies with plans and specifications, performing field tests, and upholding safety and ethics on site in Raleigh, NC.

Key Responsibilities

•Examine and interpret construction plans, schedules and quantities.
•Support senior project inspectors in functional areas such as construction inspection, surveying and material sampling and testing.
•Verify that work is performed safely and in accordance with the project plans and specifications.
•Perform a wide variety of standardized and non-standardized tests and assignments in compiling, analyzing, computing, editing and processing field data.
•Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma.
•7 years of road and bridge construction inspection and testing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Engineering Interns (EI) may be eligible for this position without experience.
•The ability to attain the following certifications within 90 days +/- or as class scheduling allows: NCDOT Concrete Field Technician certification, NCDOT Conventional Density certification, Level II Erosion & Sediment Control/Storm water certification, NCDOT QMS Roadway Technician certification, NCDOT ABC and Borrow Pit Sampling certification
•Ability to keep accurate records and compute field data.
•Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
