Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as first-level escalation to NOC personnel for network issues and serve as technical POC for escalated troubles.
  • •Lead IP network device configurations and Test & Turn-Up of network nodes/devices; coordinate with Tier2/Tier3 engineering and configuration managers.
  • •Perform advanced diagnostics with software and hardware tools to determine network status, optimize performance, and troubleshoot logical/physical network issues.
  • •Create and maintain operational documentation (SOPs/MOPs), implementation/test plans, request for change documents, and network design diagrams/as-builts.
  • •Provide technical guidance and training to junior technicians; administer network management applications and help maintain 100% availability; support 24x7 on-call and onsite after-hours as required.

Key Requirements

  • •Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
  • •6+ years of experience in a network management environment and a firm knowledge of IP technology.
  • •Proficiency in routing, switching, and security technologies, including working knowledge of Layer 2, 3, and 4 networking.
  • •Expertise with network management protocols/tools including SolarWinds, Cisco Identity Services Engine, Cisco Access Control Server, EIQ SecureVue, Neuralstar, and SNMP managers.
  • •Security+ (or equivalent IAT/IAM/IASAE Level 2 per DoD 8570.1) plus JNCIA or CCNA certification is required; progress toward CCNP or equivalent and knowledge of HAIPE/encryption devices is expected.
