Job Summary

Lead civil transportation and roadway design projects for Minnesota counties and MnDOT, delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions from concept through final design and construction. Manage project budgets and schedules, oversee design tasks and studies, and ensure strict QA/QC compliance. Grow the market through client engagement, pursuits, and proposal development, while mentoring local staff and supporting a strong people and culture within WSP’s Transportation & Infrastructure Group.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead civil engineering projects and manage contributors’ responsibilities, deadlines, budgets, and performance, including supervision of subcontractors and contract work.
•Prepare and oversee preliminary and final design plans, cost estimates, and special provisions while developing staff capabilities.
•Drive client engagement and market growth by leading client care programs and contributing to proposals, scopes, schedules, and budgets.
•Identify and position WSP for future county and MnDOT opportunities by monitoring capital improvement programs and supporting RFP pursuits.
•Provide leadership in people and culture by mentoring local staff and ensuring strict adherence to QA/QC procedures and responsible decision-making.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
•15+ years of post-education experience in engineering and civil design.
•At least 10 years of verifiable professional project management experience.
•Professional Engineer registration in Minnesota or ability to obtain within six months.
•Proven experience with Minnesota county and MnDOT projects; experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
