Job Summary

Lead and manage the Lining Development function, providing functional expertise and setting strategic direction to advance reduction cell lining technologies. Oversee departmental strategy execution, budgeting and CAPEX planning, techno-commercial studies, and compliance across safety, quality, and environmental policies. Guide planning, design documentation, stakeholder coordination, and operational innovation through R&D projects, technology package development, trials, benchmarking, and technology transfer support.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide functional expertise and lead/manages all operations in the Lining Development function to drive strategic technology direction for reduction cell linings.
•Manage departmental objectives through leadership, performance management, talent development, and coaching/mentoring to maximize team performance.
•Recommend and monitor department budgets and CAPEX performance; co-define CAPEX budgets and develop CAPEX-efficient engineering solutions while maintaining quality and safety.
•Direct implementation of functional specifications, policies, processes, procedures, and controls for lining development; ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
•Plan and manage technology packages, design documentation, trials/prototype cell development, benchmarking, and stakeholder coordination for technology development and technology transfer activities.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering or Science, or a related discipline.
•Ten (10) years relevant experience in cathode casting and pot lining follow-up and construction of greenfield or major brownfield projects, including at least five (5) years in progressively increasing technical and project management roles.
•Experience managing strategic business partnerships and contractor relationships.
•In-depth knowledge of the aluminium manufacturing sector, products, and business strategies.
•Risk management, project management, and effective communication/interpersonal skills, including experience coaching and mentoring.
