Job Summary

Optimize ranking and recommendation models for TikTok Commerce Ads across the full funnel to improve monetization efficiency. Work on model optimization within the ads delivery system (feature engineering, ranking stages, cold start, delayed feedback, multi-task and sequence modeling), co-design retrieval algorithms and long-sequence sampling, and help build scalable distributed training pipelines with GPU tuning. Also develop LLM-based recommendation approaches such as generative and sequence-only modeling.

Key Responsibilities

•Optimize models in the ads delivery system, including feature engineering, model structure, auto crossing, cold start, delayed feedback modeling, multi-task learning, and sequence modeling.
•Co-design algorithms and systems such as retrieval algorithms, sample mining, and long-sequence modeling.
•Explore large-scale distributed training frameworks, including GPU tuning, feature processing, and synchronous training.
•Improve ads delivery efficiency in privacy-preserving environments.
•Develop LRM for the next generation rec system using an LLM learning paradigm, including entity understanding, end-to-end generative recommendation, sequence-only recommendation, and mixture-of-experts.

Key Requirements

•Excellent coding skills with familiarity in C++/Python and a solid foundation in data structures and algorithms.
•Strong machine learning foundation and familiarity with common models such as FM, LR, GBDT, DNN, and Wide&Deep.
•Excellent learning ability, teamwork, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Publication or competition experience in data mining/machine learning (e.g., KDD, NeurIPS, SIGIR) is a good fit.
•Bachelor’s degree or above in computer science or related majors.
