Key Responsibilities

  • •Formulate, mix, and apply automotive refinish materials to vehicle surfaces and sub-assemblies in accordance with standards and procedures.
  • •Mix the required amounts of primer, base, and clear to cover repair areas and limit waste using paint supplier mix-management tools/systems.
  • •Perform advanced refinish troubleshooting and triage for complicated refinishing, including color match and paint imperfections.
  • •Assist and support Shop Paint Technician I & II with refinish troubleshooting and continuing skill development.
  • •Inspect panels and refinish products, maintain paint and spray application equipment, and keep paint and storage areas clean and maintained.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED plus 5 years’ related experience, or an equivalent combination of education/certification and experience.
  • •Minimum 4 years of paint technician experience on medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair (or equivalent).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for the role.
  • •Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
  • •Hold ASE B2 (Painting and Refinishing) and ASE B3 (Non-Structural Analysis and Damage Repair) and ASE B5 (Mechanical and Electrical) certifications.
