Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform SQL Server database administration including complex performance tuning for in-house and vendor applications.
  • •Assess and optimize SQL Server instances (inventory and license cost optimization) for an enterprise IT organization.
  • •Design and maintain database environment infrastructure strategies, including hardening, security, configuration, maintenance, and support.
  • •Maintain SQL Server health through monitoring and patching, and upgrade SQL Server between versions using multiple techniques.
  • •Create and maintain documentation/standards for audit, compliance, training, and support; provide team training/mentoring and join on-call rotation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • •Minimum six (6) years of hands-on SQL Server database administration experience in an enterprise environment.
  • •Demonstrated experience with database automation/scripting, performance tuning, and infrastructure management.
  • •Ability to perform SQL Server upgrades across versions using multiple techniques.
  • •Strong understanding of database architecture, security, high availability, disaster recovery, and operational best practices.
