Job Summary

Own DB2 database administration in Linux environments end-to-end, from database setup through ongoing health and performance. Lead project implementations including DB2 upgrades and support for RHEL and application upgrades, perform L3–L4 incident troubleshooting, and manage backups, security, user access, storage, and I/O performance. Monitor database health with event/snapshot monitors, tune databases, and automate maintenance using Ansible roles and shell scripting.

•Handle DB2 database administration end-to-end in Linux environments, including setup, maintenance, upgrades, and performance/health ownership.
•Drive project implementations such as DB2 upgrades and support for RHEL and application upgrades.
•Perform L3–L4 troubleshooting for database-related incidents and resolve issues with application vendor support.
•Manage backups, recovery, security, controls, and user access to the database.
•Monitor, tune, and optimize database performance using tools such as event and snapshot monitors; implement partitioning and compression and write/maintain automation with Ansible roles and shell scripts.

Key Requirements

•University graduate degree (mandatory).
•7+ years of relevant experience as a DB2 UDB DBA.

•Know-how in Ansible, including writing/customizing existing playbooks (intermediate-advanced preferable).
•Shell scripting know-how (added advantage).
