Job Summary

Define and shape architectural aspects of programmes for UK Defence and National Security accounts, from discovery and landscape assessment to designing solutions across product and programme teams. Work in agile, fast-moving environments with multiple suppliers and diverse stakeholders, evaluating current solutions, identifying challenges and options, and guiding proposals through governance reviews while supporting estimation and business case generation.

Key Responsibilities

•Define solutions and shape architectural aspects of programmes, from discovery and landscape understanding through to designing within product and programme teams.
•Evaluate current state of solutions or services and identify challenges, gaps, and opportunities.
•Identify technical solutions and options, define programme roadmaps, and set high-level direction.
•Define transition states and transformation approaches, supporting estimation and business case generation for proposed solutions.
•Guide proposed solutions through technical governance reviews and build relationships with technical and business stakeholders in an agile environment.

Key Requirements

•Experience delivering in Defence environments, including Defence governance, acquisition processes, military decision-making, and collaboration across military, Civil Service, and suppliers.
•Strong Solution Architecture experience with delivery within Defence, National Security, or similarly complex, highly regulated environments.
•Strong knowledge of cloud-native architectures and cloud platforms, including experience of MODCloud or equivalent Defence/National Security cloud environments.
•Experience using recognised architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, NAF, or MODAF, including modelling approaches such as ArchiMate.
•Experience delivering solutions with strict security controls and awareness of Secure by Design (SbD) principles and implementation.
