Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate equipment safely and efficiently within designed parameters.
  • •Locate utilities and buried lines prior to digging and prepare trenches for pipes.
  • •Guide pipes into place, attach trench boxes and pipes using chains/guide wires, and cut/connect pipes using tools, lubricants, and glue/grout.
  • •Set up and move laser level/tripod and pipe lasers; build couplings, connectors, and mechanical joints.
  • •Maintain job site safety and cleanliness by fencing off areas, setting barricades and safety cones, and performing clean-up and minor servicing/maintenance as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • •1 year of experience working on excavation sites and experience laying water, sewer, and storm drain (preferred).
  • •Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write correspondences and memos.
  • •Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) and apply common sense to follow detailed instructions.
  • •Ability to work well with others in a group or one-on-one setting; knowledge of inventory and order processing systems; uses a job-specific computer system for ticketing and a two-way radio for communications.
