Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide overall management responsibility for coordinating, motivating, and leading up to 50 cleaning operatives to deliver a high-quality cleaning service.
  • •Recruit, induct, develop, and support staff; handle underperformance and training actions, including 1-2-1s and PDR meetings.
  • •Audit buildings to ensure cleaning standards are met; take corrective action when standards are not achieved.
  • •Maintain Health & Safety compliance, including COSHH training/understanding, PPE management, and Portable Appliance Testing before use.
  • •Ensure customer service and escalation: investigate issues, build relationships with building/facility stakeholders, and manage complaints in a timely manner.

Key Requirements

  • •Proven experience leading a large team, ideally in a cleaning or facilities environment, including recruitment, selection, induction, and Personal Development Reviews.
  • •Membership of the British Institute of Cleaning Science or a relevant equivalent qualification/equivalent substantial experience.
  • •Working toward the Chartered Management Institute Team Leader/Supervisor Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent) within 2 years of appointment.
  • •Experience monitoring performance and identifying training needs for staff.
  • •Strong MS Office skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and detailed understanding of COSHH/Health & Safety in a cleaning environment.
