Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop RFQs for plastic injection molds and support documentation for transfer molds from other Eaton locations.
  • •Perform DFM and product reviews, and conduct/coordinate tool design reviews and manufacturing activities with overseas suppliers/tool shops.
  • •Follow up on tool trials and part validation, including coordinating corrective actions and root cause analysis for new and ongoing manufacturing issues.
  • •Lead tooling validations at production sites and lead engineering changes for new product revisions and current production tools.
  • •Support diagnosis and repair of chronic mold issues and run new molds with the production team to ensure successful release, tracking project status and lessons learned.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plastics Engineering (Polymers), Tool Engineering, or a related field.
  • •Hands-on plastic injection mold design and manufacturing experience, including small and precise plastic part designs.
  • •Experience with molding processes such as silicone, thermoplastic, thermoset, extrusion, and overmolding.
  • •Knowledge of GD&T, hot runner/cold runner systems, reverse engineering, mold manufacturing methods, and mold flow analysis review.
  • •3–5 years in similar roles; fluent in English/Spanish; cost out and problem-solving methods (5 Whys, 8D); project management. Tools: SolidWorks and mold design (SPI Type class 101–104).
