Key Responsibilities

  • •Weld aluminum and copper leads and hook up leads on secondary and primary coils and accessories for single and three-phase transformers.
  • •Position and shape leads for proper clearance within the tank, then MIG weld laminated leads to bus bars.
  • •Braise, weld, or crimp secondary leads to the coil and assemble/hook up dual voltage switches, tap changers, and required accessories.
  • •Fit, cut, and bolt wood braces; measure and cut leads to proper lengths; strip, insulate, and crimp terminals.
  • •Perform minor coil repair as needed due to handling, and read blueprints and schematics.
