Job Summary

Design protection and control solutions for HV/EHV substations, from developing engineering deliverables (SLDs, schematics, wiring diagrams, terminal plans) to producing relay panel and RTU/SCADA interface designs. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, review vendor drawings, and prepare relay settings and engineering calculations. Ensure compliance with IEC/IEEE and client standards, and support FAT/SAT, commissioning, and technical issue resolution across UK and Ireland energy infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare Protection & Control engineering designs for HV/EHV substations (11kV–400kV+).
•Develop Protection Single Line Diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, terminal plans, cable schedules, and interconnection diagrams.
•Design relay panels and related control and annunciation panels, and RTU/SCADA interface designs.
•Prepare relay settings philosophy, perform protection coordination, and review relay configurations.
•Coordinate with civil, primary, telecom, and SCADA engineering teams; review vendor drawings; and support FAT/SAT and commissioning issue resolution.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
•Experience in HV/EHV substation Protection & Control design.
•Knowledge of protection schemes for Transmission and Distribution substations.
•Experience with protection relays (e.g., Siemens, GE, ABB/Hitachi Energy, Schneider Electric, or SEL).
•Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
