Job Summary

Oversee the safe and efficient operation of an underground polymetallic mine, partnering with engineering, geology, and operations teams. Lead occupational health and safety planning, ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, and conduct incident investigations, audits, and emergency readiness. Manage mine operating plans, capital projects, equipment, budgeting, and production performance while leading and developing a multi-disciplinary team to support long-term business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

•Champion health, safety, and the environment and lead development, implementation, and administration of an occupational health and safety plan.
•Manage and develop a multi-disciplinary team (including mining engineers and geologists) and establish priorities to maintain safe, cost-effective production.
•Develop and implement mine operating plans, policies, annual operating and capital budgets, and forecasts; monitor performance against budgeted production and cost targets.
•Oversee compliance through regulatory coordination, health and safety training, incident investigations, inspections, and corrective actions following audits.
•Oversee workers’ compensation administration, emergency response needs (including rescue teams), and occupational health surveillance (sampling, data analysis, and employee notification).

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in mine engineering, geology, geologic engineering, or related field, plus eight or more years of related experience and/or training in a supervisory capacity.
•Prior supervisory experience and MSHA instructor certification required.
•Ability to obtain ATF Possessor’s Clearance.
•Must possess expertise in emergency management and the incident command system, plus risk management, hazard recognition/mitigation, and contractor management.
•Pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen; pass a position-specific physical demands assessment.
