Key Responsibilities

  • •Support the development and implementation of national strategies and roadmaps for local production of medicines, vaccines, diagnostics, and other health technologies.
  • •Provide technical assistance to strengthen pharmaceutical manufacturing ecosystems and support access to quality-assured health products.
  • •Support SAHPRA and stakeholders in strengthening regulatory systems, including regulatory harmonization, GMP oversight, pharmaceutical quality assurance, and benchmarking tool assessments.
  • •Convene and facilitate technical consultations, policy dialogues, and stakeholder engagements across government, industry, academia, development partners, and regional institutions.
  • •Assess pharmaceutical manufacturing capacity and technology transfer opportunities, analyze evidence to inform policy and investment recommendations, and prepare technical reports, policy briefs, and progress updates.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: ZAR 74,852 monthly

Key Requirements

  • •Advanced university degree (Master’s level or equivalent) in Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Industrial Pharmacy, Public Health, Health Economics, Regulatory Sciences, Pharmaceutical Policy, Health Systems, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related field.
  • •At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in pharmaceutical systems, medicines regulation, pharmaceutical manufacturing, health technologies, public health, or related areas.
  • •Demonstrated experience working with government institutions, regulatory authorities, pharmaceutical manufacturers, development partners, or international organizations.
  • •Registration as a Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) (desirable).
  • •Excellent written and spoken English is required.
