Job Summary

Develop and deliver grid connection services projects, supporting electrical design through power system studies and grid code compliance work. Perform detailed studies using tools like PowerFactory, PSCAD, and PSS/E, and lead grid connection due diligence including prospecting, optioneering, risk and capacity/constraints assessment. Coordinate technical reviews, prepare specification sections, develop cost and effort estimates, and liaise with clients and OEMs while supporting bids/proposals for UK and Ireland projects.

Key Responsibilities

•Support delivery of electrical design through power system studies.
•Undertake grid code compliance studies using PowerFactory, PSCAD, and PSS/E.
•Perform grid connection due diligence including grid prospecting, connection optioneering, risk assessment, and capacity/constraints assessment.
•Develop construction cost estimates and technical effort estimates, and support quality control reviews of design calculations/drawings.
•Prepare technical specification sections, contribute to engineering budgets/schedules, and liaise with OEMs and clients; support bids/proposals.

Key Requirements

•Proven relevant professional experience with an engineering design consultancy, OEM, or utility network planning and connections.
•Strong understanding of transmission and distribution planning and customer connection processes for regulated and industrial networks.
•Knowledge of UK technical requirements including UK Grid Code, G99, G5/5, and P28 (Ireland Grid Code knowledge is beneficial).
•Proficiency in PSCAD, PowerFactory, and Python scripting; prior PSSE and ETAP expertise is desirable.
•Understanding of control and protection principles for high voltage substation equipment and related transmission system components.
