Key Responsibilities

  • •Assist with inspections of bridges, culverts, overhead sign structures, high mast lighting poles, retaining walls, and other transportation assets.
  • •Support inspections under state DOT/transit/local regulations and standards including NBIS and NTIS, following WSP quality requirements.
  • •Collect and document field data such as measurements, defect identification, material conditions, and environmental factors (e.g., corrosion and scour).
  • •Prepare client-compliant field notes, sketches, and photographic documentation for use in official inspection reports.
  • •Operate inspection tools and equipment (including measuring devices and sounding tools) and help develop inspection reports with condition ratings and recommended maintenance actions.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • •0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience in bridge inspection, construction, or structural fieldwork.
  • •Excellent research skills with an analytical mindset, including the ability to read and interpret bridge plans and specifications.
