Key Responsibilities

  • •Drive reliability and operational excellence for runtime and platform systems by maintaining KPIs/SLOs and operational metrics (e.g., MTTR, MTBF).
  • •Diagnose and resolve production incidents, batch failures, outages, performance bottlenecks, and infrastructure issues across Mainframe and distributed platforms.
  • •Design, develop, prototype, test, and implement scalable software solutions and operational tooling using Java, Python, COBOL, REXX, JCL, and SQL.
  • •Implement automation and engineering practices to improve platform resiliency, operational efficiency, and security; support CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • •Support hybrid mainframe and cloud/distributed architectures, modernization initiatives, and enterprise integration using APIs, MQ, Connect:Direct, and data integration patterns.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of mainframe experience with knowledge of distributed application concepts.
  • •Experience supporting and optimizing enterprise platforms on IBM Mainframe technologies including z/OS and common utilities (e.g., JCL, DB2 for z/OS, IMS, VSAM, MQ, CICS).
  • •Strong programming and scripting skills to automate operational tasks (e.g., Python, REXX, Bash, PowerShell).
  • •Familiarity with monitoring/logging and incident management best practices for production reliability and performance.
  • •Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., DB2, PostgreSQL, Redis, Couchbase) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is a plus.
