Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide end-to-end case management to support safer communities.
  • •Assess prisoner needs using specialist assessment tools (e.g., SDAC-21).
  • •Develop and review Prisoner Management Plans in line with practice standards.
  • •Deliver brief interventions and motivate positive behaviour change.
  • •Chair case conferences, coordinate rehabilitation and reintegration activities, and prepare Parole Board reports/attend hearings as required.

Key Requirements

  • •Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Psychology, Criminology, Social Work).
  • •Knowledge and experience working effectively with Māori and Pasifika people.
  • •Warm, empathetic, non-judgemental style with strong communication skills.
  • •Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and related contemporary issues.
  • •Ability to maintain Ministry of Justice and NZ Police vetting clearances, and Department of Corrections authorisation/clearance as appropriate.
