Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws, obeying traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Transport loads safely and on time over required routes, maneuvering the truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas and following loading crew signals.
  • •Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment as needed, including unloading empty skids and returning equipment to designated areas.
  • •Maintain signed invoices, shipping bills of lading, and other required paperwork; deliver documentation to the shipping office when routes are complete.
  • •Perform routine service on trucks (e.g., checking oil, water, gasoline, and air) and report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor, plus arrange trailers for optimum loading patterns as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •Must hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license depending on state and vehicle requirements.
  • •Must pass background and drug testing required by federal/state DOT regulations and be able to pass a DOT physical for trucks over 10k lbs.
  • •Must be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.
  • •Able to operate and maneuver truck and trailer safely, including loading/unloading and following loading crew signals.
  • •Must be able to lift and move up to 40 pounds and travel frequently.
