Job Summary

Join the Science and Research – Analytical Sciences group in Geneva to support a purification laboratory delivering pure substances from chemical synthesis and biotechnology. You’ll apply purification methodologies, plan and execute experiments, interpret results, and ensure timely, reliable sample delivery. Manage workflows and tracking in LIMS/ELN, troubleshoot technical issues, and help implement automation and digital, data-driven purification workflows while maintaining lab and instrument operations.

Key Responsibilities

•Apply purification methodologies to deliver high-purity substances from crude reaction mediums and design purification workflows.
•Plan and execute purification experiments, interpret results, and use analytical thinking to solve complex purification challenges.
•Deliver reliable samples on time and manage workflows in a high-throughput environment.
•Manage workflow and data tracking in LIMS and ELN systems.
•Implement automation/digital, data-driven purification workflows and proactively manage lab and instrument maintenance/troubleshooting.

Key Requirements

•Master’s in Organic or Analytical Chemistry with at least 3 years of professional experience in chemical purification (or CFC), or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 10 years in a relevant domain.
•Hands-on experience with separation techniques and related method development, using analytical and preparative methods (LC, SFC, GC, Flash) and appropriate detection systems.
•Experience with evaporation instrumentation (e.g., Rotavap, freeze-drying, distillation).
•Solid understanding of organic chemistry and how molecular structure relates to purification strategy; theoretical background in separation science of small, volatile molecules (chromatography).
•Fluent in French, with working knowledge of English (oral and written).
