Key Responsibilities

  • •Partner with Product, Finance, Accounting, RevOps, and engineering leadership to shape long-term billing architecture and commercial flexibility.
  • •Design billing platform primitives including usage events, billable metrics, products, rate cards, contracts, credits, subscriptions, overages, and invoice workflows.
  • •Architect systems to meter usage at scale, transform events into billable quantities, and support pricing changes without constant product rework.
  • •Build and evolve the entitlement layer to separate pricing/packaging from product behavior, enabling programmable access, limits, credits, and plan controls.
  • •Ensure operational trustworthiness through idempotent handling, reconciliation, notifications, auditability, observability, and troubleshoot billing discrepancies and edge cases.

Key Requirements

  • •10+ years as a software engineer, including ownership of business-critical backend systems in production.
  • •Deep experience architecting billing/payments/pricing or quote-to-cash systems for B2B SaaS at meaningful scale.
  • •Strong experience designing APIs and event-driven systems to ingest, validate, aggregate, and reconcile high-volume operational data.
  • •Understanding of modern billing models (usage-based pricing, subscriptions, prepaid credits, commitments, overages, hybrid packaging, enterprise commercial terms).
