Job Summary

Lead mechanical systems design in the MSEN engineering organization as the Design Lead and primary engineering liaison to the Customer Integrated Product Team. Coordinate cross-functional design execution, manage medium-scale projects, and proactively identify and mitigate design risks to deliver technical commitments on schedule. Provide urgency-led support for customer fleet issues, mentor engineers, develop Engineering Knowledge System (EKS) content, and support engine builds, teardowns, and MRO site activities with up to 20% travel.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as Design Lead and primary engineering liaison to the Customer Integrated Product Team (CIPT), driving design execution and schedule adherence.
•Coordinate cross-functional design activities to ensure timely technical deliverables and proactively manage design risks.
•Serve as focal point for major technical issues within the CIPT, collaborating with IPMT, SIPT, Chief Engineers, and customers to communicate progress and mitigate risks.
•Identify, plan, and execute cross-functional tasks, including managing medium-scale projects, and disposition customer fleet issues with urgency.
•Mentor and coach engineers, contribute to Engineering Knowledge System (EKS) content, and support engine builds, teardowns, and Engine Centers/MRO sites.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related) and 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and 5 years of relevant experience.
•Proven mechanical design engineering experience delivering successful projects, including system-level awareness and analysis.
•Proven track record mentoring engineers and providing strategic technical guidance to elevate performance and accelerate skill development.
•Experience with design or modeling of bearings, carbon seals, complex castings, machinings, and forgings.
•Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar) and strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
