Key Responsibilities

  • •Maintain, repair, rebuild, and adjust ammonia refrigeration systems and related equipment.
  • •Analyze, calibrate, replace, repair, and rebuild equipment and machinery per established procedures.
  • •Perform routine rounds and inspections across the ammonia refrigeration system and safely isolate/pump down sections.
  • •Receive and transfer ammonia within plant systems as qualified; perform line opening procedures in line with safety protocols.
  • •Troubleshoot and repair electrical controls; maintain compressor/engine/roof areas and support Process Safety Management (PSM) team activities including respirator fit testing.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • •2-4 years of experience in ammonia or Freon refrigeration, boiler operations, and/or compressed air systems preferred.
  • •Clear understanding of refrigerant expansion and pressure-temperature relationships.
  • •Must be willing and able to serve as a Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Team Member and pass CARO and/or CIRO operator certifications (or be willing to obtain certification).
  • •Ability to read and use dial gauges, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments; lift up to 50 pounds and work while exposed to CO2 and chlorine within specified limits.
