Job Summary

Serve as an independent contributor in the Bank’s Credit Review organization, helping ensure financial soundness by identifying, assessing, and escalating credit risks. Conduct continuous and targeted credit reviews across assigned business units, analyze underwriting and credit memos, validate risk ratings, and prepare clear reports for senior stakeholders, the Risk Committee, and regulators. Lead review workstreams when acting as Lead Reviewer, track remediation effectiveness, and recommend policy/process enhancements, including AI-driven workflow improvements.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage and execute all stages of continuous and targeted credit reviews, completing analyses per Credit Review procedures and regulatory guidelines.
•Analyze credit memos for complex lending transactions, including underwriting quality, covenants, guarantees, collateral, borrowing base formulas, and repayment terms.
•Verify accurate and timely risk ratings within the bank’s dual risk rating framework; recommend and defend rating changes with data-supported rationale.
•Prepare review reports and conduct discussions with senior stakeholders; secure and validate remediation plans and follow through on remediation effectiveness.
•Identify gaps in credit policy/processes/risk rating models and recommend process enhancements, including integrating AI-driven methodologies into review workflows.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Banking, or related field (or equivalent training/experience).
•3+ years of experience in underwriting, portfolio management, or Credit Review for a commercial/wholesale lending portfolio (or comparable consulting/regulatory experience) with focus on commercial lending programs; experience determining risk ratings preferred.
•Technical expertise underwriting complex CRE and C&I (or other specialty financing) credits.
•Strong organizational/time management with ability to work autonomously with limited supervision.
•Strong data analysis skills to identify trends and root causes, plus communication skills to document conclusions clearly and concisely.
