Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • •Work with EMT and MHPSS focal points to integrate MHPSS into EMT and emergency operations, including updating national EMT SOPs and referral pathways aligned with EMT Blue Book standards.
  • •Support development and implementation of MHPSS Specialized Care Teams guidance, including tools, self-assessment checklist, and a training package for independent use.
  • •Adapt and deliver GEDSI-informed MHPSS training and reference materials for EMTs, embedding Pacific cultural framing and enabling country-level trainer capacity through TOT outputs.
  • •Serve as faculty/trainer for MHPSS for EMTs and health emergency workforce activities through in-person and remote trainings, workshops, webinars, and network meetings.
  • •Lead monitoring, evaluation, and reporting by maintaining sex- and disability-disaggregated activity registers and submitting activity reports after trainings, SIMEXs, and emergency activations.

Key Requirements

  • •Terminal/doctoral degree in psychology or psychiatry (e.g., PsyD) or a closely related field, with qualification to practise independently.
  • •At least 7 years of relevant professional experience at national and international level focused on mental health and emergency response, including developing and delivering training/education and curricula/materials.
  • •Demonstrated experience developing and delivering training for mental health or health emergency response.
  • •Experience supporting capacity strengthening of national and international rapid response teams, including EMTs, and working in national and/or international health or emergency management systems.
  • •Excellent written and spoken English communication skills, with proven writing skills and strong skills in data management (sex- and disability-disaggregated data) using Microsoft Excel.
