Job Summary

Own Quadrants end to end—from API and authoring experience to IR, lowering, optimization passes, and numerical primitives—while driving the open-source roadmap. Build high-performance GPU and compiler capabilities that make readable Python (NumPy/PyTorch style) compile into fast kernels for physics and numerical simulation. Partner with teams using Genesis to measure performance, track regressions, and reduce platform-specific complexity as the system grows.
Location: Paris
Workplace: Hybrid
Employment Type: Full time
Job Function: Administration & Executive Assistance
Seniority: Manager level

Key Responsibilities

  • •Own Quadrants end to end, including the API surface, IR, lowering, optimization passes, and numerical primitives.
  • •Build high-performance GPU kernels by optimizing execution plans (vectorization, shared memory usage, barriers/atomics, and threading).
  • •Develop and maintain core primitives such as Cholesky, eigendecomposition, matmul, reductions, and solver kernels with correctness and benchmarks.
  • •Coordinate Quadrants and Genesis performance by hunting for wins, proposing API changes, and reducing duplication and platform-specific special-casing.
  • •Operate Quadrants as a product: benchmark real workloads, track performance over time, and catch regressions early while staying close to users.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep expertise in GPU performance fundamentals, including access patterns, registers, shared memory, barriers, atomics, and threading.
  • •Strong Python and API design taste, with the ability to deliver idiomatic, legible authoring surfaces for Python users.
  • •Experience with compiler systems: IR, lowering, and optimization passes, balancing performance against maintainability.
  • •Ability to turn naive computation into strong execution plans (vectorization, cooperative threading, memory traffic reduction, and synchronization elimination).
  • •Comfort working proactively and self-directed, collaborating with engineers and shipping in an open-source context.
