Manage Engineering Compute and Storage environments for Intel’s Hard IP Division, including Linux-based VNC and interactive/batch servers, EDA license forecasting, and allocation planning for all HIPD users. Support troubleshooting with Unix/Linux and networking knowledge, enable outsourcing data center (ODC) setups, and maintain Unix project groups and license availability reporting.

Key Responsibilities

•Manage engineering compute (Linux-based VNC and interactive/batch servers), storage, and EDA licenses for HIPD.
•Forecast compute and storage needs and collaborate with Intel IT to allocate resources for HIPD users.
•Track utilization, adjust forecasts/allocations, and reduce job failures by analyzing compute metrics (peak averages, time loss, core/memory/CPU utilization).
•Optimize run times by identifying opportunities for job profiling with Design Tools/Flows teams.
•Support licensing operations (FlexLM), including 1st-level licensing support and monitoring license availability using lmstat and related tools.

Key Requirements

•B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science or electronics with hands-on experience (5–14 years).
•Manage engineering compute, storage, and EDA licensing for HIPD environments, including forecasting yearly/quarterly/monthly needs.
•Hands-on knowledge of Unix/Linux systems and basic networking to troubleshoot compute and licensing issues.
•Experience with high performance compute, storage, and Netbatch/load sharing infrastructure.
•Create web-based indicators and use analytics tools (PowerBI and Splunk-like indicators; knowledge of GitHub and Intel Netbatch is a plus).
