Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead electrical engineering for operating nuclear plants and new nuclear/advanced reactor projects as responsible engineer or discipline technical lead.
  • •Design, analyze, and modify Class 1E and non-Class 1E AC/DC power systems including emergency power, batteries/chargers, switchgear, transformers, motors, cables, grounding, and protection/control systems.
  • •Prepare and independently review nuclear-grade calculations, drawings, specifications, design change packages, equipment procurement documents, and technical reports.
  • •Apply nuclear safety classification/quality classification/seismic categorization, equipment qualification, licensing/design basis, and configuration-management requirements to engineering deliverables.
  • •Manage electrical interfaces and provide technical oversight across project life cycle activities including studies, procurement, construction/testing, commissioning, turnover, and operating support; mentor engineers and contribute to proposals.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (accredited) and a Professional Engineer license in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, or ability to obtain it within an agreed timeframe.
  • •10+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience supporting commercial nuclear power plants, nuclear facilities, or advanced reactor projects; recent nuclear design/modification/systems engineering preferred.
  • •Demonstrated experience with nuclear electrical systems, including safety-related/important-to-safety equipment, Class 1E and non-Class 1E power systems, safety/quality classifications, seismic categorization, and design-basis requirements.
  • •Working knowledge of nuclear codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and quality assurance programs, including experience with 10 CFR Part 50 Appendix B and/or ASME NQA-1 design-control and configuration-management processes.
  • •Ability to develop, review, and independently verify nuclear electrical calculations, specifications, drawings, design change packages, procurement documents, and vendor submittals for nuclear applications.
