Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform and lead load and generation interconnection studies, including steady-state, short-circuit, or dynamic analysis with commercial tools.
  • •Build out GridCARE’s dynamics and short-circuit duty study approach, defining methodology and selecting cost-effective tooling.
  • •Develop power flow and stability models to evaluate system impact for new interconnections, including data centers and inverter-based resources.
  • •Advise the engineering team as a technical subject-matter expert on study methodology and interconnection process questions.
  • •Collaborate with utilities, developers, and regulators, and present study results, recommendations, and process findings directly to stakeholders.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus) or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • •10+ years of experience in power system studies, transmission planning, or interconnection, at a utility or consulting firm.
  • •Hands-on experience running interconnection studies, including at least two years specifically in that area.
  • •Proficiency with commercial power system tools such as PSSE, PSLF, PowerWorld, PSCAD, PowerGEM TARA, or ASPEN.
  • •Strong coding skills in Python (or equivalent), including use of power system tool APIs like psspy, simauto, or pypowergem.
