Key Responsibilities

  • •Supervise and mentor the Production Geology staff, including personnel scheduling, performance evaluations, and attendance/AIPs.
  • •Ensure production geology work implements the short-range mine plan and provides consistent, accurate direction to underground operations.
  • •Standardize and maintain quality/quantity of face sampling to predict ore and waste tenor; oversee related QA/QC and grade-control sampling.
  • •Review and provide geologic feedback/approval for engineering plans, and provide stope and pre-production drilling suggestions/designs as needed.
  • •Produce monthly mine/mill reconciliations, maintain the production database, and cover production geology when geologists are on vacation.

Key Requirements

  • •B.S. in Geological Engineering, Geology, or related field (or equivalent education/experience).
  • •4+ years of experience in the mining industry with familiarity with described job functions.
  • •Proficiency with 3D modeling software such as Leapfrog, Vulcan, Micromine (or similar), and Deswik.CAD and Deswik.Mapping.
  • •Able to work independently and collaboratively with strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
  • •Proficient with MS Office applications and acQuire database software, and able to pass required physical/drug screens.
