Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the delivery of high-quality flood modelling and hydrology projects, guiding the team under general supervision and ensuring alignment with clients’ needs and regulatory guidelines.
  • •Mentor junior staff and facilitate professional development within the team while building relationships with clients and other technical disciplines.
  • •Contribute to tenders and framework contracts, providing technical input and ensuring outputs meet programme and budget constraints.
  • •Develop and review hydraulic models using Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, Mike, HEC-RAS, ICM and other industry-standard tools, and assess water quality modelling approaches.
  • •Collaborate with engineers and specialists to deliver a wide range of fluvial, coastal, surface water or drainage flood risk management projects across the UK and beyond

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline
  • •Obtained or near to obtaining professional qualification with CIWEM or similar
  • •Evidence of significant experience in hydraulic and water quality modelling software (e.g. Mike, ICM, SIMCAT, Flood Modeller, or TUFLOW)
  • •Demonstrable knowledge of Environment Agency requirements in preparing flood models for Flood Risk Assessments
  • •Practical knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Anaconda, or Ruby would be advantageous
