Job Summary

Lead a team of solution and data architects while staying hands-on with the design and delivery of end-to-end data platform solutions. Own architectural direction across Azure Synapse and Databricks, define patterns and reference architectures, and ensure governance, standards, and consistency across transformation projects. Partner across supply chain, commerce, manufacturing, corporate tech, and omni-channel to deliver scalable, maintainable data products aligned with data architecture principles.

•Lead and develop a team of solution and data architects, including coaching, performance management, career development, and hiring.
•Define and maintain team OKRs aligned with data & analytics and business objectives.
•Own the architecture team’s roadmap, prioritise work across transformation projects, and allocate capacity across workstreams.
•Set architectural direction for the data platform, ensuring consistency across Azure Synapse and Databricks environments.
•Review and guide solution designs to ensure adherence to standards and best practices, balancing centralised and lakehouse patterns.

Key Requirements

•Hands-on experience designing and implementing data platform solutions at scale, with 2–3 years in a team lead, manager, or senior architect role with people management responsibilities.
•Experience leading and developing technical teams, including performance management, career development, and building team culture.
•Experience owning delivery roadmaps, OKRs, and budgets for an architecture or engineering function.
•Strong technical foundation across Databricks lakehouse (Delta Lake, medallion patterns) and Azure Synapse (star schemas, dedicated pools) plus data pipeline orchestration (ADF or Databricks Workflows).
•Experience with data quality frameworks, data contracts, and computational governance approaches.
