Key Responsibilities

  • •Collect rock formation samples and perform geological analysis, including written and digital lithology descriptions and lithology plots/logs.
  • •Correlate lithology with LWD data where available and package, administer, and backload samples.
  • •Monitor drilling parameters and interpret drilling/well monitoring data to provide clear well overview while preventing unintentional fluid releases to the environment.
  • •Maintain and troubleshoot offshore SDL equipment and support offshore operations and SDL equipment troubleshooting.
  • •Carry out offshore shift work with proactive planning and reporting while following strong HSEQ practices, including hazard hunts and JSA risk assessments.

Key Requirements

  • •4-5+ years offshore experience, including 1-2 years as a data engineer and 1-2 years as a logging geologist (other drilling-focused offshore roles considered).
  • •Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Geology, Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Computing Sciences, or Programming.
  • •General knowledge of computers, network principles, and software (Windows XP and Office software) plus basic troubleshooting.
  • •Strong experience with mud logging duties, equipment, and relevant sensors is highly advantageous.
  • •Advanced gas services and/or XRF or XRD experience is advantageous.
