Job Summary

Optimize inbound and outbound shipments across assigned branch locations by building routes and shipment plans in BlueLinx’s Transportation Management System (OTM). Select carriers, manage backhaul opportunities, handle exception-driven changes, and coordinate tendering/spot bidding. Ensure on-time, accurate delivery and evaluate routing strategies to reduce costs while maximizing backhaul revenue. Support freight settlement by coordinating with finance and reconciling accessorial charges.

Key Responsibilities

•Plan and route inbound and outbound shipments for assigned branch locations using OTM, including selecting carriers and supporting freight settlement.
•Ensure orders are planned to arrive on time to the correct destinations in expected quantities.
•Evaluate routing strategies to lower transportation costs and maximize backhaul revenue.
•Manage regional backhaul processes and exception-driven activities such as order reprioritization, driver/equipment swaps, and high-priority loads.
•Coordinate with third-party carriers and brokers for shipment plans and tendering/spot bidding, and support invoice/accessorial charge reconciliation with Freight AP Analyst.

Key Requirements

•BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or similar preferred.
•2-3 years of logistics/transportation experience in logistics planning operations, or 5-8 years with relevant experience without a related educational background.
•Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes (MOT: LTL/FTL/Rail).
•Proficiency using a Transportation Management System (TMS) and relevant tools/technology.
•Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills with third-party carriers and finance/commercial partners.
